small layout updates and a short talk about me and art

i'm not sure if anyone noticed, but i've been slowly working on making the site more responsive. soon enough most of it should be (at the very least) comfortable to read without a need for zooming/flipping the screen. it's not a big change and it definitely wasn't my priority as i myself don't use a mobile device anymore but i thought it would be a nice opportunity to get myself back into the habit of updating this site. i've been mostly indifferent towards mobile users and i still am - i don't think this website will ever be fully mobile-friendly, but i don't want it to be mobile-hostile, either.

so far, the index, homepage, blog, links and quotes page should all be responsive as i believe those are the most important pages to make readable. no, i don't consider "about me" all that important. you'll learn who i am through the rest of the site, after all.

this also means that i changed the quotes page heading a little bit, as its previous look was actually a result of an error i thought looked cool and kept. unfortunately it didn't translate into mobile well, though i do believe this one looks just as nice.

i also added a message on index as i've noticed some sites don't disclose whether or not they have flashing lights/images or autoplay. many do, many don't. i know some pages don't mention that because they don't have them and assume it's the default and some pages simply don't think of adding the warning even though they do have these elements. it might sound silly to choose to disclose a lack of a trigger rather than its presence but i understand that to those affected by these elements this is likely to be relevant information that they'd like to have before entering a site.

there's also a small disclaimer about swearing because while i do try to put my thoughts in a somewhat eloquent manner, my roots are polish and so i've grown up speaking a language filled to the brim with swears which i'm sure will bleed through at some point.

i believe that is all in regards to site updates for now.

as for my life, i've been doing slow progress in coming back to life again, reading more and while i still have a need to lay down every few hours, i believe i've been doing relatively well. i even started drawing digital again! my drawings are in no way masterpieces of any sort but i derive incredible joy from them.

i don't think i've ever mentioned it here, but i have a neurological problem that limits my fine motor skills (some form of tremors that have persisted since i was little), making it difficult for me to do anything requiring precision. while it's already an issue with traditional art, it becomes more challenging with digital, which i have to do with my non-dominant hand (as i'm left-handed and use a mouse). there are of course digital tools that help to some extent (namely stabilizator...) but it's still somewhat difficult for me. this is also why it gives me so much satisfaction when i do draw, no matter what the end result looks like. it's an amazing feeling to be able create something even if i need to hold a fork with two hands while eating sometimes.

here's something i

drew yesterday:

(there was a jozio here. sledziuk, insert it back!)
